AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust has been supporting Anti-Bullying Week across Dorset.
Pre-recorded lessons were sent around to local schools, while some sessions were also delivered in person with safety protocols in place.
Overall, 36 classes benefitted from the scheme, while there were also virtual workshops which ran every day via Zoom and had over 50 participants.
The message of anti-bullying centres around the Respect and Citizenship lessons delivered by the Community Sports Trust.
Local real estate firm, Goadsby, have just announced their partnership and support of the scheme for a seventh consecutive season.
The programme uses young people’s love of football to encourage good behaviour at school, at home, in sport and within the community.
Following a successful week promoting the anti-bullying message, AFC Bournemouth’s head of community, Steve Cuss, spoke with afcb.co.uk.
“Under the theme of our RESPECT workshops we were delighted to support Anti-Bullying Week with a number of workshops, with many on Zoom.
“The children and participants involved were very mature in their answers and contributed greatly, talking openly about bullying and the effects this has on individuals and how support can be offered along with the importance of talking.”
