Participants get stuck into Cherries kickstart scheme

AFC Bournemouth were delighted to launch the first Cherries Kickstart session, in association with Vitality, on Thursday evening.

The first session saw 38 participants involved at Vitality Stadium, with the opening class centred around building healthy habits into a daily routine.

Following the session, the club’s official wellness partner, Vitality, provided some additional information to help those who partook stay active throughout the rest of the week.

AFC Bournemouth’s first team sports scientist, Rob Lloyd, also supplied his top tops for building and maintaining a healthier lifestyle. Rob focused on the important role your mindset plays, as well as movement, nutrition and recovery.

Key takeaways from the session involved:

  • Building healthy habits is the first step in helping create a more sustained active lifestyle.
  • Improving your physical health plays an important role in helping improve your mental well-being.
  • Performing a recovery routine after exercise is essential in helping look after your body.
  • You should try to ensure you stay active throughout the whole week, rather than just relying on one session.

The next session for participants is Thursday 19th January, again at Vitality Stadium.
