Gallery: Grit and determination as women beat Bridgwater

AFC Bournemouth women showed huge fight as they went on to record a dramatic 4-2 win away at Bridgwater on Sunday.

Chloe Gilroy opened the scoring for the Cherries before goalkeeper Daniela Kosińska went off injured on a stretcher shortly after, consequently seeing midfielder Katie James take over between the sticks for the visitors in Somerset.

A superb free-kick from Fi Barry levelled things up before Molly Barron-Clark produced a lovely finish from 25 yards to restore the lead.

Bridgwater, however, were level early in the second half as Libby Gimson poked home from close range, making for a dramatic end with the scores still level in the final minutes.

A never-say-die attitude from a determined Cherries outfit paid off when Kenni Thompson and Lucy Cooper secured the three points with moments to go.

The win means that Steve Cuss's side remain unbeaten in the National League this season as they go on to visit Southampton Women on Thursday before hosting Torquay United at Ringwood Town on Sunday.
