Adam Smith is set for at least a fortnight on the sidelines due to his knee injury, the headline team news ahead of Saturday's match against Huddersfield Town.
The full-back last played in the pre-international break match with Sheffield United, but has been missing in the two away matches since, Jack Stacey stepping into the right-back role in his absence.
Scott Parker spoke to the media in his pre-match press conference and gave the latest on Smith's situation.
"Adam Smith's seen a specialist," he said. "He's probably going to be a couple of weeks, in terms of where he is at this current moment in time.
"It may be a little bit longer, we're trying to settle a slight issue he's got with his knee. We'll wait for that to settle down then ramp up his work and see where he is after that."
New signing Robbie Brady is also not expected to feature in the squad this weekend against the Terriers.
However, the head coach gave good news on Philip Billing - who was substituted late in Tuesday's win over Stoke City - while also talking about Lewis Cook, who played his first 90 minutes since his March knee injury on Wednesday.
"Phil's fine, he's all good," commented Parker. "Lewis Cook played 90 minutes in the week which was very pleasing and he came through that. He's definitely on the right track from where we were and he's still doing very well.
"There is another game coming next week so there is an option there to really give him the confidence, and for myself to see him, by getting those match minutes under his belt.
"Game time is crucial, he's probably another game away from then forcing himself into the team and being selectable."
