Team news: Cahill starts against Tykes

Gary Cahill comes into the starting line up for his Cherries debut against Barnsley this afternoon.

The centre-back signed for the club last month and is named to partner Lloyd Kelly in what will be the 61-cap England defender's first Championship match since 2007 when he turned out for Sheffield United - in a match that coincidentally also came against Barnsley.

Having missed the pre-international break trip to Hull City through illness, Mark Travers and Philip Billing return to the team, with Adam Smith also making his comeback.

David Brooks, who pulled out of the Wales squad, retains his place in the team after a positive period of training with Scott Parker's squad.

Deadline day signings Ryan Christie and Jamal Lowe both make the bench, from where they could be introduced for debuts during the afternoon.

While there is no facility for AFC Bournemouth supporters to watch the match via iFollow this afternoon, audio passes for the match can be purchased here.
