Stanislas - There's plenty of positives

Junior Stanislas has spoken to afcbTV, following the Cherries’ 2-1 defeat at Everton on Saturday.

Joshua King gave Eddie Howe’s side the lead just after the break, before two goals from Oumar Niasse ensured the hosts picked up all three points.

But the winger, who made his first league appearance of the season after an injury kept him sidelined, spoke highly of the performance and insisted that there were plenty of plusses to take from the game.

“I think we controlled the game for large parts,” he began.

“Having gone a goal up, we thought we should have won the game or at least picked up a point.

“We obviously made a couple of mistakes and got punished for them but there were plenty of positives to take from today and if we go forward like this, we’ll start picking up points quickly.

“We started taking control and soon began thinking about whether a goal was going to come our way.

“Then we scored and missed another good chance but, on another day, Jermain [Defoe] takes that chance and we win the game.

“Ultimately, we need points on the board, but going into training next week we’ll work hard and look to put in a good performance against Leicester on the weekend.”

Stanislas also spoke of the game on a personal note and how he felt following his first 90 minutes of the season.

“I feel good, I want to play as many games as I can,” he continued.

“I’ve obviously been frustrated last season and at the beginning of this season and it seemed to be a little bit get-go.

“Then something would happen and it would keep me out for a while but hopefully that’s behind me now and I can manage what I have and go forward.

“I’ve come through 90 minutes so I’ll get some good recovery in the next couple of days ahead of Saturday’s game.”
