Ryan Fraser wins August Michael Matthews award

Ryan Fraser has won the Michael Matthews Player of the Month award for August.

The winger played every minute of the Cherries opening three fixtures in the Premier League this season, finding the net once in the 2-0 win against Cardiff on the opening day, and earning an assist for Steve Cook’s headed winner in the 2-1 victory away to West Ham.

Fraser’s electric start to the season included Tuesday’s 3-0 Carabao Cup win over MK Dons, when he added another goal to his tally to wrap up a fine first month of the season for AFC Bournemouth.

With more than 1,200 votes, Fraser won the first award of the season on 56%, ahead of Callum Wilson (25%), David Brooks (14%), and Steve Cook (5%).
