Daniels – It gives us extra motivation for next week

Charlie Daniels dissected the loss at West Bromwich Albion, with plans to quickly turn things around next weekend against Watford.

The left-back voiced his dissatisfaction to afcbTV following the 1-0 defeat at the Hawthorns, where Ahmed Hegazi’s first-half header settled the match.
“It was very frustrating,” he said after the game. “We knew what their game plan was going to be and we feel we didn’t execute ours to the best of our ability.
“We had a lot of possession but didn’t create as many chances as we wanted and to get done on a set-piece was very frustrating.”
Daniels felt that his side had kept the solidity needed for much of the opening-day clash, but recognised that an improvement is required at the other end of the pitch.
“The actual shots they had on goal, I don’t think there were too many,” he said. “It was just one lapse in concentration for the set-piece that cost us at least a point today.
“Defensively we were okay but going forwards and creating was our biggest downfall, that’s something that we need to work on this week coming up to a home game so that we play the way Bournemouth should play.”
With attentions already turning to the visit of the Hornets to Vitality Stadium next weekend, Daniels says the squad plan to instantly get back to their attractive attacking style.
He explained: “We’ve got high hopes for this season, so to start off without any points is disappointing, it gives us that little bit of extra motivation for next week when hopefully we can rectify it.
“Our style of play is hopefully going to come out, we play swift, quick, attacking football which we all want to play and bring to the table next week.”
