Brady ready to play his part

Robbie Brady has been speaking to afcb.co.uk ahead of the weekend’s trip to Blackburn Rovers and admitted how much he’s looking forward to this season’s run in.

The versatile Irishman played a key part in Tuesday’s dramatic 3-3 draw, as the Cherries fought back with a trio of goals inside just 18 minutes to pick up a point on the road.

Ahead of Saturday’s trip up north, Brady believes his side can take encouragement from the mid-week fixture with such a tight turnaround between games.

“We showed good character to get back into the game, which is always positive at this time of the season,” he said.

“It's not ideal going 3-0 down, but we got back into it. We're really looking forward to the weekend and hopefully we can pick up some valuable points to get us to where we want to be.

“At times during the season, when games come thick and fast, it doesn't give you much time to dwell on the one that's just past. It's all about looking towards the next game, especially at this time of year.

“The games come fast and it's better because you have less thinking time and can just go and do what you need to do.

“The mood has been good and the lads have dealt with things really well. A lot of teams would love to be in our position, so it's exciting.

“We've got a few games left and we'll be pushing forward to getting the job done.”

Despite spells on the treatment table during the season, it hasn’t affected Brady’s mindset, as the 30-year-old continues to enjoy life on the south coast with the Cherries.

“It's been excellent and I've loved every day coming in to training.

“I've needed to get those hard yards back into my legs and the way they work here, with the management team and training, is good for that.

“It was exactly what I needed. I’ve obviously had a couple of bumps along the way, but I feel really good and strong, and hopefully I can play my part in the weeks to come.”

After a long campaign, with plenty of games in quick succession, Brady concluded by providing an update on how he’s feeling physically ahead of a huge three games over the next eight days.

“I feel really good, I've had a good build up this year,” he said.

“Last pre-season wasn't ideal because I didn’t get a full one, but the work I've put in during the season ready for now has been brilliant for me personally.

“Obviously, I would've liked to play more minutes, but it's coming to crunch time now and I'll be ready to go if needed.

“It'll be lovely to end the season at home, getting back in front of the fans and hopefully finish strongly.

“We'll get the last away one out the way on Saturday, hopefully with a good result, and then roll on the next two.”
