Mings checks in on PL Kicks project

Tyrone Mings made a special guest appearance at the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trusts’ Premier League Kicks project on Monday evening.

Alongside project sponsors AIM Altitude and Curtiss-Wright, Mings was on hand to meet and greet young footballers at the Mudeford Wood Community Centre in Christchurch.

Mings then took time to answer a selection of the groups questions, before posing for photographs and signing autographs.

“Premier League Kicks is one of a number of projects that our Community Sports Trust run in conjunction with the Premier League,” Mings told afcbTV. “It’s great because it gets kids enjoying their football at a young age.

Joint-funded by the Premier League and Sport England, the Premier League Kicks programme uses the power of football and the values of sport participation to help hard-to-reach youngsters.

“As ambassador of the project I’ve been to a few of these sessions recently and they are always great fun. Steve Cuss and the community staff do a great job in delivering the project, and hopefully my appearance was a nice surprise for the kids involved!”

Digital marketing manager at Curtiss-Wright, Christian Howe, said: “It’s great that we’re able to support this programme. We’re looking to give back to the community and educating children through sport is key to our development as a company.”

Colin Thornton, AIM Altitude engineering director, added: “We’re very proud to be involved in the project. One of our key objectives is to support local children and to see them enjoying their football alongside Tyrone is great.”

Both Curtiss-Wright and AIM Altitude are in their first year of partnership with AFC Bournemouth.

Curtiss-Wright are a market leader with diverse, technically advanced, product lines operating within a wide range of global markets from agriculture to automotive and aerospace to nuclear energy.

AIM Altitude designs, engineers and manufactures aircraft cabin interiors for the world’s major airlines, delivering iconic bars, lounges and social spaces.
