AFC Bournemouth winger Junior Stanislas was on hand to speak to pupils of St James’ Primary School in Pokesdown about mental health and well-being.
The event was organised by the AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust and sponsored by Tru Talent, a recruitment agency in Bournemouth whose team of specialists boast great industry knowledge and a wealth of experience.
Player ambassador Stanislas spoke about mental health and how it relates to everyday life and football and also took part in a question-and-answer session and signed autographs.
AFC Bournemouth’s aim is to provide support to both primary and secondary schools across Dorset and to help educational leaders raise aware of a subject that has never been so high on the public agenda.
The programme is designed to encourage the younger generation to talk openly about mental health and to be able to understand the struggles that are associated with it.
The sessions help pupils explore emotions, how to recognise change in behaviour and how to keep a positive mindset while setting goals for the future.
The programme delivery is a combination of theory, participation and also physical activity.
