Head of Community returns from China

AFC Bournemouth’s Steve Cuss has returned from a 10-day community project in China.

Working in Ningbo, he delivered education sessions to coaches from local schools and football teams.

Topics taught spanned across both theory and practical sessions, whilst points of interest included warming up, developing drills and the ideal footballing environment.

Following the sessions, the trip finished with a football festival, which brought together local schools to take part in various activities.

Since returning, Steve has spoken highly of the project and what it did for local coaches.

“The Premier League Skills project is fantastic and helps promote both the Premier League and AFC Bournemouth globally,” he told afcb.co.uk.

“The content of the course allowed us as tutors to showcase the methodology around coaching practices in the UK.

“It was well received by the 40 teachers enrolled on the 7 day programme.

“The final day festival involving 80 local School children was a real highlight as the teachers got to deliver the games and practices worked on throughout the week, with all the children receiving AFC Bournemouth Posters and gifts.”
