AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust have this week entertained a selection of under-16 girls players from Elite Soccer Skills Academy to Bournemouth as part of their UK tour.
Elite Soccer Skills Academy is a player development platform from Florida, headed by ex-AFC Bournemouth director Adam Murray. The team have travelled to the UK for a ten-day tour, which included fixtures against AFC Bournemouth, QPR and Yeovil Town.
The team of fourteen players spent their first day having a tour around AFC Bournemouth, including the training facilities used by the first team.
While at Vitality Stadium, they met chairman Jeff Mostyn and manager Eddie Howe, and posed for photographs. Their visit also included a spot watching the first team train as they prepared for their next Premier League fixture.
The ESSA’s first game in England was an entertaining affair against Bournemouth’s under-16 girls. Despite the Cherries going 4-0 up, ESSA responded with three brilliant goals in the last twenty minutes to see out a narrow defeat.
Their final day of work with the Community Sports Trust saw them visit Brockenhurst College where they learnt about the Female Elite Player Programme course, which is run by the club on the college campus.
Speaking about the visit, head of community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “We were delighted to welcome back Adam and with his talented team from the Elite Soccer Skills Academy.”
“The ten-day tour was packed with games, coaching, visits and presentations which we hope all the players enjoyed and will be a benefit as they continue their studies and careers.”
