Community Sports Trust work with local Asylum Seekers

AFC Bournemouth's Community Sports Trust are delighted to have welcomed a group of young men to Ringwood Community Hub for a training session this week.

The group of refugees based in the Bournemouth area visited the Hampshire-based facility for a 90-minute training session, focusing on ball work and shooting sessions, before getting lots of small-sided matches in.

The facility also received a donation of playing kit and football boots from the Community Sports Trust for use in their future footballing activities.

Head of Community, Steve Cuss, spoke to afcb.co.uk following the session: “We enjoyed working with the group of players.

“Football has the ability to bring people together and the morning training sessions was enjoyed by all. We look forward to supporting them with future opportunities.”
