Community Sports Trust celebrate IWD at Ringwood

AFC Bournemouth's Community Sports Trust were delighted to mark International Women’s Day with a Let Girls Play festival at Ringwood Community Hub.

The event welcomed over 30 girls in Years 6 and 7 from local primary and secondary schools to take part.

Throughout the afternoon, the students from Oak Academy, The Grange, St James Academy and Pokesdown School took part in coaching sessions and small-sided matches, which were officiated by female students from Brockenhurst College's Female Football Education Programme.

Head of Community Steve Cuss talked about the event at the Ringwood Community Hub: “The Let Girls Play Festival was a big success, with the girls enjoying playing and representing their schools

“We are delighted to be able to continue to offer these opportunities through our programme of events for individuals and schools.”

One final part to the day for the youngsters was the opportunity to meet women’s team Player Kenni Thompson, who was on hand to answer questions and sign autographs.
