Cherries granted Girls' Emerging Centre Licence

AFC Bournemouth Community Sports Trust are pleased to have been awarded a License from the FA/Premier League to run an Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) for the next three years.

The awarding of this license will allow the club to further their existing work within the girls’ and women’s game, offering specific focus on the younger age groups.

The ETC will focus on the under-9s, under-11s and under-13s age groups, with players receiving weekly coaching sessions to complement their existing club commitments.

This will look to link into the club’s existing girls’ academy sides within the under-10s, under-12s, under-14s and under-16s age groups.

Head of Community Steve Cuss said: “We are really pleased to further our offer for talented players in and around Bournemouth.

“By offering bespoke opportunities, we are in the position of widening the pathway for girls and we are really pleased that we now have a development pathway for female players.

“From recreational/development opportunities, to the ETC, through our academy sides and into our full-time college programme and two senior sides.

“We are really excited to commence the rollout of the programme in September.”

Trials for the under-9s, under-11s and under-13s ETC age groups will take place on Friday 2nd September from 5pm on the 3G pitches at Slades Park.

Those successful within the trials will be invited to an induction evening on Tuesday 6th September, before the ETC weekly training sessions commence on Friday 9th September.
