Care South thanks staff with tour of Vitality Stadium

AFC Bournemouth were pleased to welcome Care South staff to Vitality Stadium on Thursday 7th April for an exclusive tour of the ground.

Care South is a not-for-profit leading provider of residential and care at home services across the south of England and frontline staff were rewarded for their loyalty and hard work over the last two years with a trip to the home of AFC Bournemouth.

The day started with refreshments on arrival, followed by a stadium tour with Steve Cuss, Head of the club’s Community Sports Trust. The event was concluded with a fantastic surprise appearance from Chairman, Jeff Mostyn, during afternoon tea and cake. He was on hand to thank Care South staff for their hard work and support during the pandemic.

Following the event, Simon Bird, Care South’s Chief Executive, commented: “It was fantastic to welcome our staff to the Vitality Stadium for an incredibly rewarding event. We had 35 members of staff in attendance who were nominated by Care Home Managers. We’d like to thank AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust for hosting this.

"It was also great for Care South staff to be recognised at the AFC Bournemouth Women’s game against Chesham United at Vitality Stadium on Sunday 10th April. We have worked closely together for some time now and I am grateful for the support they have provided in enabling us to say a big thank you to our staff who always work incredibly hard to provide the highest quality of care to residents.”

Amy Marks, Strategic Partnerships Manager at AFC Bournemouth, added: “The staff event was a wonderful opportunity for our partner, Care South to show appreciation to its staff and receive a personal message from our chairman. We are delighted to share in more collaborative partnership opportunities and continue helping those in our community.”

The staff event was thanks to the ongoing partnership between AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust and Care South, which began in 2014. The partnership allows residents, home care clients and staff to get involved in a variety of activities, including exercise, meeting players, coffee mornings, walking football and attending club events.
