AFC Bournemouth supporters have raised £11,531 for the Royal British Legion by bidding on match-worn poppy shirts.
Cherries shirts from the club’s Remembrance Day 2-0 victory over Newcastle United were donated to continue ongoing support for the charity.
Bids came in for the home kits – which had the poppy on as a symbol of remembrance – from more than 15 different countries, with a large contribution also coming from local fans.
Having scored the brace which secured three points, the shirt of Dominic Solanke raised the highest bid, being sold for £984.
All money raised will help make a difference to members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families by providing practical help, advice and support.
