AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

Illia Zabarnyi capped a memorable first full season in the Premier League by being crowned AFC Bournemouth supporters’ player of the year.

Zabarnyi was presented with his trophy by owner and chairman Bill Foley following the Cherries’ match against Brentford at Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has started all but one game in the Premier League this season and scored his maiden goal in the competition during the Cherries’ 4-3 win over Luton Town in March.

Mr Foley also presented Dominic Solanke with the players’ player of the year and the Junior Cherries player of the year after the striker had taken his Premier League tally for the season to 20 by netting against Brentford.

Daniel Adu-Adjei, who has netted 26 goals for the AFC Bournemouth development squad this season, was named academy player of the year and Molly Barron-Clark, who has scored 11 times and assisted on 22 occasions, received the women’s team player of the year, presented by Bournemouth University
