New training wear delayed

AFC Bournemouth will begin pre-season training in the club’s current training kit, due to global freight issues.

Delivery of the Cherries’ 2021/22 training wear has been delayed following shipping challenges caused not only by the Covid-19 pandemic but also Brexit and the recent Suez Canal blockage.

Many professional teams across a range of manufacturers have also been affected by these issues but the club is confident that the new stock will arrive at Vitality Stadium within the next fortnight.

“It is obviously disappointing that we will be unable to start pre-season training in new kit,” explained AFC Bournemouth commercial director Rob Mitchell.

“Unfortunately, the issues are out of our control but Umbro have been in regular dialogue with us throughout this time and are doing everything they can to ensure it reaches us as soon as possible.

“As soon as the new stock arrives, it will be worn by the players and staff and also made available for supporters to purchase from the Superstore.”
