Loan Watch: Euan is Truro's Trophy goal hero

Euan Pollock maintained his rich vein of form in front of goal as Truro City booked a place in the first round proper of the FA Trophy on Tuesday.

Pollock bagged the only goal as the White Tigers saw off Cirencester Town at Bolitho Park, the win earning the club £2,450 in prize money.

The 19-year-old has netted four times in his past four games for Truro as well as being on target for Cherries development squad in their 1-1 draw with Southampton last month.

Pollock is on work experience with the Southern Premier South outfit and his winner against Cirencester set up a home tie against Isthmian Premier Division Bognor Regis Town on November 13th.

He broke the deadlock in the 13th minute, coolly slotting the ball home after the Centurions defence had failed to deal with Ryan Brett’s cross.

Pollock almost marked his tenth appearance for Truro by doubling their lead but was quickly closed down by Cirencester goalkeeper Alex Harris.

He then had a header saved by Harris before the visiting goalkeeper pulled off a top-drawer stop after Pollock had gone clean through on the stroke of half-time.

Pollock made way for Ryan Dickson in the 61st minute and will be hoping to keep his place when the White Tigers travel to South Wales to take on Merthyr Town on Saturday.
