Jeff Mostyn to support to Show Cancer the Red Card Day

AFC Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn will lend his support to a Show Cancer the Red Card community awareness day in Boscombe on Saturday.

The Cherries’ chairman, who is a patron of the Dorset Cancer Care Foundation, will be present at the free event, which runs from 9.30am-4.30pm at the Sovereign Centre, alongside members of the club’s Community Sports Trust.

It will highlight the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle, which can prevent many cancers, and help prevent other health conditions, too.

Mostyn will give a speech as well as donating a handful of AFC Bournemouth prizes, which will be given out during the day, and the chairman is looking forward to getting involved.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be representing the football club at such an important event in the community,” he said.

“The football club plays such an influential role in the area and we will do anything we can to try and bring awareness for issues that are so close to our hearts.

“Hopefully, the attendance of the club can raise the popularity of the event, and ultimately that could be life-changing for someone.

“I would encourage everyone in the area to come down and support the event. There will be a bit of fun, as well as the serious, important message, and we hope it will be a very special day.”
