Club to trial external concourse areas

AFC Bournemouth are planning to trial the use of an external half-time concourse area in the North Stand for the next three games against Huddersfield Town, Preston North End and Swansea City.

This will give supporters access to an external area serving food and drink, easing congestion and queuing.

The area will be barriered and manned by SIA security and stewards and the facility will be in place for the half-time period only.

There are a number of conditions that the club will need to meet in order to make this trial a success and be given permission by the Safety Advisory Group to retain use of this area.

The club are moving towards making Vitality Stadium contactless, so card payment would be the preferred method of payment.

Swipestation is also available to use in the concourse areas, with more details here.

The club will also need your co-operation with the following:

- Please adhere to the instructions of stewards i.e. when asked to drink up and move inside at the end of the permitted time.

- Please respect our near neighbours in terms of noise.

- Please adhere to the strict no smoking/vaping regulation in place throughout the ground.

Hopefully, by working together, the cub can make this venture a success that enhances your matchday experience.

After consulting supporters, the club are planning to trial leaving the South Stand serving areas open throughout the game.

This should help to alleviate queues and serving times.

There are some concerns about fans moving during the game and the potential effect on other supporters’ enjoyment of the match.

When using the service, the club would ask supporters to leave the stand from the exits located halfway up the stand rather than walk across the front of the stand and so cause potential disruption to front seat users, some of which may be wheelchair users.

The club will monitor movement and any other evident impact but would urge supporters to be mindful of fellow fans when moving around. Then, the trial will be reviewed and decide whether to continue or adjust this provision. If you would like to submit feedback on Saturday, please email enquiries@afcb.co.uk.
