Andrew Surman is once again not in contention for the fixture while Charlie Daniels has trained this week.
"Junior Stanislas will be out for this weekend," Howe said.
"We're hopeful on Junior that its weeks and not months, the scans revealed some good news. There is some damage on the ankle but fingers crossed it won't be too long.
"Charlie has improved, he trained earlier this week and should be in contention, while Andrew Surman is not available."
