AFC Bournemouth Ladies set for first taste of FA Cup action this September

Posted: Tue 16 Aug 2016

For the first time in their recent history, AFC Bournemouth Ladies will enter the SSE Women’s FA Cup this season.

The Cherries are one of 234 teams entered in the 2016/17 competition, going straight into the second qualifying round after receiving a bye through the first stage.
Their first FA Cup game sees them face newly-formed side, New Milton Town Ladies FC, with the match against the Hampshire outfit scheduled to take place at Fawcetts Field on Sunday 18th September.
Head of community Steve Cuss has spoken of his delight in seeing the Cherries enter the competition.

“The FA Cup always provides great excitement for all involved,” explained Cuss.

“We are very much looking forward to being back in the competition and look forward to what will be a very difficult game against New Milton Ladies.

"This is a good indicator of the growing work we are doing with our ladies teams here at AFC Bournemouth."
