The 3-3 draw, which saw Junior Stanislas score two extremely late goals to earn a point back in November last year, is lauded as a result which helped shape the Cherries' season.
This is a belief shared by the manager, and he is hopeful his players can earn a similar result to help start a run, much like it did last campaign.
"The Everton game last season at home was a really significant result," Howe said.
"There was something you can't necessarily coach in that game, the spirit and determination they showed. It was a turning point in our season, we showed we're not just here to play, we have an ability to find a way to get results.
"Those things helped keep us up last season, if we can continue to show those same attribute this season we will achieve our goals."
The Toffees currently sit second in the Premier League table after their best ever start to a top flight campaign.
"Everton are a very good footballing side," Howe continued.
"They've added more pace in the middle and out wide, and they have plenty of goalscorers. Individually they have very good players, so I expect a tough game.
"Romelu Lukaku is one of a number of good Everton players, but they have plenty of players in most positions and will be a very strong outfit."
