/media/221072/048a9219.jpg

ESET are a key partner of the club, who we continue to work closely with in the local area.

The Objectives

  • Helping to provide the younger generation with expert knowledge of how to stay safe online
  • Align on core values to embrace participation, culture and inclusion
  • Support the growth and progress of women’s football
  • Drive digital brand awareness
  • Connect with the local business community

ESET, a global digital security company, were looking to grow their customer reach and market presence in the UK. An important goal was to better connect with supporters and the community through digital platforms as well as create engaging, interactive and fun content. Another objective was to strengthen the understanding of digital safety to the younger generation as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative – Safer Kids Online.

The Solution

  • Delivering internet safety lessons to schools across Dorset
  • Supporting AFC Bournemouth women’s team
  • Digital support through sponsorship of matchday content
  • Official Partner for The NET and Headline Partner of the Directors’ Lunch

AFC Bournemouth and ESET UK worked closely to devise a bespoke package that offered them sponsorship of in-game stats and the post-match manager interview. It provided the opportunity for the ESET brand to be seen by 800,000 supporters on Instagram and almost 700,000 on Twitter.

The partnership offers ESET the opportunity to better connect with the local business community by supporting our annual Directors’ Lunch attended by senior level delegates opening up warm introductions made by the club.

The package also includes back of shirt sponsorship for AFC Bournemouth’s Women’s Team, enhancing ESET the existing relationship as official partner along with continuing to embed the ‘Safer Kids Online’ workshops in the schools curriculum locally.

The Outcome

  • Impact in raising awareness of internet safety within the local community
  • 71 Safer Kids Online sessions delivered in season 2022-23 with over 2,000 pupils taken part
  • National recognition of the ESET brand
  • Back of shirt sponsorship for AFC Bournemouth women
  • £124K Global QI Media Value and £18k UK Media Value from LED exposure
  • £40k Media Value from matchday content, over 10 million impressions
  • Networking and connecting with over 80 delegates at The Net senior level Directors’ Lunch

During the first seasonESET have been able to build their brand’s profile and awareness through the affiliation and supporting many different areas of the club including women’s football and the community sports trust.

The partnership generated over £180k media value in season 22-23 through LED and sponsored digital content in the 22-23 season of aligning ESET with the assets.

The Net’s successful Director’s Lunch introduced ESET to over 80 business delegates and gave the brand the opportunity to build and establish relationships.

Testimonial: Safer Kids Online

"Thanks for the workshops today. The children loved it and it think that it is great that you are able to offer such important messages of how to protect yourselves online.”

We visited Year 4 at Oakhurst School for a special workshop with Joe Rothwell. Read more here

Testimonial: A note to Jaidon

The internet can be a powerful tool, but harmful activity and content is widespread, with 80% of children being exposed to negative experiences online (GOV.UK). Through the amazing work that AFC Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust deliver, together with ESET, we wanted to tackle the dangers of the internet and provide children with key messages and tools of how to stay safe online.

‘A note to Jaidon’ allowed 20 of our younger fans to experience a mock press conference with first team winger Jaidon Anthony, while they were also given a behind-the-scenes stadium tour. Fans were able to direct questions to Jaidon and learn how he and his teammates keep themselves safe whilst online.
