Born in Spain, Ruth Topping is enjoying her third season with AFC Bournemouth Women.
The youngster, who prefers to occupy the holding midfield role, actually played boys football until the age of 15 and was the first girl to feature in the Junior Premier League.
At under-16 level, she played along the south coast at Portsmouth, commuting from the Isle of Wight for competitive football, before making the switch to AFC Bournemouth and partaking in the Community Sports Trust's football education programme at Brockenhurst College.
In her opening season with the club, she featured on 17 occasions in all competitions and was in and around it last year too, but the campaign was declared null and void for the second time in 12 months due to Covid-19.
