Born in Spain, Ruth Topping is enjoying her second season with AFC Bournemouth Women.
The youngster, who prefers to occupy the holding midfield role, actually played boys football until the age of 15 and was the first girl to play in the Junior Premier League.
At under-16 level, she played along the south coast at Portsmouth, commuting from the Isle of Wight for competitive football.
Now at AFC Bournemouth, Topping not only plays for the Cherries but also takes part in the Community Sports Trust's football education programme at Brockenhurst College.
In her opening season with the club, she featured on 17 occasions in all competitions and will be looking to build on that during the current campaign.
