Maisy Smith joined the Cherries from Poole Town Ladies in the summer of 2018, after helping the Dolphins finish fifth in their National League campaign.

She made 25 appearances in her maiden season with the club, netting on 16 occasions in a more attacking role. She was also part of the side that won the Chairman's Cup with a 5-4 victory over Moneyfields in 2019.

At the start of the 2019/20 campaign, Smith was appointed vice-captain and still popped up with six goals from the back as the side were top of the Southern Region Women’s Premier League before it was curtailed due to the pandemic.

After the Cherries saw their application of upward movement successful in May 2021, Smith and her teammates began 2021/22 in the National League, with the defender also taking the armband for its duration.

With 23 appearances and one goal in the club’s maiden season in step four, Smith led her team to second and picked up the Manager’s Player of the Year in what was a very successful campaign.

2022/23 again brought plenty to smile about, as she lifted the Hampshire Senior Cup at its conclusion in May in what was the first time the competition had been won by an AFC Bournemouth side.

During the summer, Smith made the decision to step down as captain in order to focus on her football.
