Last season saw Dobre continue his progression in the English game with loan spells at both Bury and Rochdale.
Born in Bucharest, Dobre, who is known by his team-mates as Alex, signed for AFC Bournemouth in August 2016 and initially linked up with the club’s under-21 squad.
He joined from Romanian top-flight outfit Viitorul Constanta, who are managed and now owned by ex-Real Madrid and Barcelona midfielder Gheorghe Hagi.
The Romanian youth international, who operates predominantly as a winger, spent his first full season at Vitality Stadium adjusting to life in England before being loaned to Lancashire rivals Bury and Rochdale in 2017/18.
He made his debut for the Shakers as a 55th-minute substitute for Jordan Williams in their 3-2 defeat at Rotherham in League One in September 2017.
Dobre started their next game, a 3-2 reverse at Fleetwood Town, and went on to make 12 appearances for the club, including one in the Football League Trophy and one in the FA Cup.
He joined Dale in January 2018 and scored his first professional goal in England on his debut at Walsall in March 2018. Dobre’s stunning solo effort helped Dale record a 3-0 win over the Saddlers at the Bescot Stadium. Dobre made five league appearances during his stay at Spotland.
In May 2018, Dobre was one of six members of the under-21 squad to sign a new contract, his current deal due to expiry at the end of 2018/19.
In July 2018, Dobre joined Eddie Howe’s first-team squad at their pre-season training camp in La Manga.
