Eddie Howe

Date of birth:
29th November 1977
Previous clubs:

Eddie Howe has been a prominent figure in AFC Bournemouth’s history, firstly for his time as a player here and more significantly for his time in charge as manager of the club.

At the age of just 29 Howe was promoted to the position of player-coach by then manager Kevin Bond and began coaching the reserve side while still playing in the first team himself.

After being hired as permanent manager in January 2009, against all the odds he brought the Cherries out of the Football League Two relegation zone, overturning a 17-point deficit.

In the following season he guided the side to promotion to League One and upon his return to the club in October 2012 he celebrated another promotion after finishing as runners-up in the third division.

The 2015/16 season will go down in history for the Cherries as they reached the dizzy heights of the Premier League, with Howe’s side capturing the Championship title after an unforgettable season.

Since then Howe has been the cornerstone behind the team go from strength to strength and has established AFC Bournemouth as a Premier League club, now guiding the Cherries into a fifth top-flight campaign.
