Midfielder Romain Faivre completed a permanent transfer to AFC Bournemouth yesterday, immediately joining FC Lorient on a season-long loan.
The ball-playing middleman made his senior breakthrough at French side, Tours, playing 12 games before making the move to Monaco, where he signed his first professional contract.
He made his debut in a Coupe de la Ligue game over Lorient in December 2018 and spent time learning from the likes of Radamel Falcao and Cesc Fabregas during his time at Stade Louis-II.
With opportunities limited, he made the move to fellow Ligue 1 side Brest, making 37 appearances in his debut season, scoring six goals.
He added seven goals in 21 matches for the side in 2021/22, earning a mid-season move to French giants Lyon.
Faivre was a regular for the remainder of the campaign, scoring three times in 14 matches, but he was unable to settle at Parc Olympique Lyonnais.
Having been restricted to just ten appearances in 2022/23, Faivre completed a temporary switch to Lorient.
He made an immediate impact, scoring his first goal in just his second start, helping Les Merlus to a 3-0 victory over AC Ajaccio.
The midfielder had a fine finish to the season, scoring four goals in his last four games, totalling eight goal contributions in 17 matches for the side.
The former France under-21 international attracted a lot of attention in the summer of 2023, with a number of European sides reportedly registering interest, but Faivre made the move to Vitality Stadium.
He spent the first half of the 2023/24 campaign at Lorient, adding further valuable experience in one of Europe’s top divisions.
