Nnamdi Ofoborh

Central midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh has made eye-catching progress at Vitality Stadium since joining AFC Bournemouth following his release by Millwall.

Ofoborh, who was on the books at Tottenham as a schoolboy, started his apprenticeship with the Cherries in July 2016 having impressed during a trial spell.

He capped his first season at the club by scoring in a 4-2 win against Wigan Athletic in the final of the EFL Youth Alliance Cup at the DW Stadium in May 2017.   

Ofoborh enjoyed a fruitful two-year stay with the club’s under-18s, including captaining them in his second year, and was named Young Player of the Season in 2017/18.

Having signed his first professional deal in July 2017, Ofoborh was rewarded with a new contract in December 2018, tying him to the club until 2021.

At the end of his first season with the under-21s, Ofoborh captained them to victory in the final of the Central League Cup with Tyrell Hamilton’s two goals earning them a 2-0 win against Notts County at Meadow Lane in April 2019.

Having trained regularly with Eddie Howe’s first-team squad, Ofoborh started pre-season friendlies against AFC Wimbledon, Girona, West Brom and Lyon in 2019.

In September 2019, Ofoborh signed a season-long loan deal with League One outfit Wycombe Wanderers.

He made his Football League debut for the Chairboys when he came off the bench in their 3-1 win over Lincoln City, a win which took Wycombe to the top of League One, the highest position in their 132-year history.  

On the international front, Ofoborh made three appearances for Nigeria at the Under-20 World Cup finals in Poland in May/June 2019.

He made his debut as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Qatar in their opening group game before starting in a 1-1 draw with Ukraine as the Flying Eagles advanced to the knockout stage. Ofoborh also started the round of 16 defeat by Senegal in Lodz.
