Netherlands international Justin Kluivert became AFC Bournemouth's first signing ahead of 2023/24 when he joined from Serie A outfit AS Roma.

The winger, son of Dutch legend Patrick Kluivert, has played in the top division in his home country as well as Italy, Germany, France and Spain.

By turning out in the Premier League, he will have played in each of UEFA's top six coefficient nations, as per the 2022/23 calculations.

Born in Amsterdam, he progressed through the youth ranks at Ajax and made his first-team debut in the Eredivisie when he was 18, against PEC Zwolle in January 2017.

He also made six appearances in the Europa League in 2016/17 and received a runners-up medal after Ajax were beaten by Manchester United in the final.

In the 2017/18 campaign, the forward made 16 goal contributions in 36 matches, with 11 strikes and five assists, to attract the attention of some of Europe's top clubs.

In June 2018, Kluivert moved to Roma and became the fifth Dutch player to represent the Italian club.

He chose shirt number 34 in support of his former Ajax teammate Abdelhak Nouri who suffered a career-ending cardiac arrhythmia attack in 2017 which left him with permanent brain damage.

Aged 19, Kluivert became the youngest Roma player to score in the Champions League when he netted in their 5-0 win over Viktoria Plzeň in October 2018.

He scored nine goals in 68 games in all competitions for Roma before joining Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig on a season-long loan in October 2020.

Kluivert netted four times in 27 games for Leipzig, including scoring in their 3-2 win against Manchester United in a Champions League group game in December 2020.

Ahead of the start of 2021/22, Kluivert joined Ligue 1 club Nice on a season-long loan, the winger scoring six goals in 31 games and helping them finish as runners-up to Nantes in the Coupe de France.

In September 2022, Kluivert followed in his father’s footsteps when he joined Valencia, Patrick having played for the Spanish club in 2005/06.

His eight goals in 29 appearances helped Valencia finish 16th in La Liga and reach the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey in 2022/23.

Capped by his country at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level, Kluivert made his senior debut in a 3-0 win against Portugal in March 2018.

Alongside his famous father, Kluivert has further footballing pedigree in his family with his grandfather Kenneth having represented Suriname at international level, younger brother Ruben turning out for FC Utrecht in the Eredivisie and half-brother Shane playing in Barcelona's academy.
