Exciting winger Alex Dobre joined AFC Bournemouth from Romanian club Viitorul Constanta in August 2016.
He played under former Barcelona and Real Madrid star Gheorghe Hagi who owns and manages the Liga 1 club.
Born in Bucharest, Dobre has been capped by his country at under-21 and under-17 level.
Initially, he joined the under-21 squad at Vitality Stadium and featured for Eddie Howe’s first team during their 2017 pre-season campaign.
Dobre spent the first half of the 2017/18 season on loan to Bury, making 12 appearances in all competitions for the Shakers.
He made his Football League debut as a 55th-minute replacement for Jordan Williams during a 3-2 defeat at Rotherham in September 2017.
In January 2018, Dobre joined Bury’s neighbours Rochdale and made five substitute appearances in League One.
After coming off the bench to make his debut for Rochdale, Dobre scored his first goal in the Football League during a 3-0 win at Walsall in March 2018.
In October 2018, he signed a new three-year contract with the club.
He gained more valuable experience during a loan spell with Yeovil in 2018/19, starting 21 times and scoring once in League Two.
In January 2020, Dobre made his debut for the Cherries when he replaced Ryan Fraser in the 80th minute of the 4-0 win over Luton Town in the third round of the FA Cup.
Dobre enjoyed a productive first half of the 2019/20 campaign, netting eight goals for the under-21s, including scoring in their first four group games in the Premier League Cup.
He completed a loan move to Championship outfit Wigan Athletic on transfer deadline day in January 2020.
