Talented goalkeeper Billy Terrell has continued to catch the eye while progressing through the academy ranks at Vitality Stadium.

Terrell started out at Portsmouth before joining hometown club Southampton when he was 13.

He also represented Southampton Schools and turned out for Oakwood in the Tyro League.

Terrell spent a couple of years in the foundation phase at Southampton before joining the Cherries as a 15-year-old.

He impressed during his two-year scholarship with the under-18s and graduated to the development squad at the start of the 2021/22 season.

Terrell had work experience loan spells with Wimborne Town in the Southern Premier League in 2020/21 and 2021/22, earning some rave reviews for his performances.

During his first stay with the Magpies, he played a starring role as they reached the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup for the first time since 1986.

He saved no fewer than three spot-kicks as they knocked out National South Maidstone United in the third qualifying round in October 2020.

And in November 2021, he produced another outstanding display as Wimborne progressed to the first round proper of the FA Trophy for only the second time in their history after beating Southern League Division One Central outfit Thame United.

Terrell was rewarded for his progress at Vitality Stadium and signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2022.

In August 2022, he was invited to attend an England men’s goalkeeping development camp at St George's Park.

He comes from a footballing family with his father Darren having been on the books at Southampton until the age of 16.
