Evanilson and Amine Adli maintained their impressive form in front of goal as AFC Bournemouth triumphed 2-0 against Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Striker Evanilson opened the scoring after being teed up by Justin Kluivert in the 31st minute, the Brazilian’s fifth goal in his past six games.

And Adli came off the bench to double the Cherries’ lead, trading passes with fellow substitute Junior Kroupi before notching his third goal in his past four games in added time.

It was the Cherries’ sixth win in all competitions, Marco Rose’s team also keeping a sixth successive clean sheet.

Justin Kluivert said it felt “amazing” for AFC Bournemouth to extend to six games their winning run in all competitions, after overcoming Leeds United 2-0 at Vitality Stadium.

Goals from Evanilson and Amine Adli sent the Cherries into the top 10 in the Premier League table.

It was also the first time in the club’s history they had won three on the trot in the top flight without conceding a goal.

Kluivert pounced on a loose pass from Leeds keeper James Trafford to assist Evanilson for the opener after 31 minutes, before Adli came off the bench to wrap up the three points in stoppage time.

Reflecting on the win, Kluivert said: “It feels amazing, especially with the clean sheet, so we keep it going.

“We knew Leeds is a team with a lot of intensity, a lot of spirit in the team and we knew they would be difficult. These games are not always the most beautiful, but it was a real battle.”

Quizzed on his role in the opening goal, Kluivert replied: “We always stay front-footed. That’s how we play in every situation and also in this situation, I smelt it. I was sharp.”

Evanilson now has five goals in his past six games in all competitions, but Kluivert was also keen to praise the number nine’s all-round game.

“He (Evanilson) always did his job and that’s the most important thing in our team, is to work hard and do your job and he has always done that,” said Kluivert.

“We knew the chances would come for him and now he is in a good streak, let’s support him to keep going.

“We need everybody this season, the people from the bench, the people who start.

“I always speak highly about our team and we always back it up at the end of the day. I am proud of our team but we stay humble, keep working hard and we look at it game by game.”

AFC Bournemouth penned a new chapter in the club record books after beating Leeds United 2-0 at Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Evanilson and Amine Adli were on target as the Cherries kept a third consecutive clean sheet while winning a Premier League game for the first time in their history.

In-form striker Evanilson drew first blood with his fifth goal in his past six games before Adli came off the bench to seal the points with the last kick of the game.

His third goal in his past four games put the finishing touches to a sixth successive win – and a sixth clean sheet on the trot – in all competitions for Marco Rose’s team.

Leeds were convinced they had opened the scoring in the 11th minute, but Dominic Calvert Lewin’s effort was ruled out for handball following a lengthy VAR review.

Harry Wilson, who served the Cherries on loan from Liverpool in 2019/20, cut in from near the touchline and unleashed a fierce drive which flashed past the post.

The Cherries responded by mounting a swift counter which ended with Ryan Christie’s thunderous strike cannoning off a defender and going out for a corner.

Adam Smith did well to block a low cross from Wilson at the near post before Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford raced off his line to beat Evanilson to Justin Kluivert’s through ball.

Adrien Truffert looked to mark his 50th appearance for the Cherries with a goal, his speculative shot soaring over the crossbar midway through the first half.

In-form Evanilson drew first blood for the Cherries in the 31st minute, the striker netting his fifth goal in his past six games.

Kluivert seized on a loose pass from Trafford before squaring to Evanilson who held off two defenders and rolled the ball into the back of the net.

As the Cherries went in search of a quickfire second, James Hill climbed at the far post to meet Kluivert’s inswinging corner, his header cleared by a defender.

Trafford was forced to smother Rayan’s low drive before Wilson lifted a free-kick high into the North Stand in first-half added time.

Marcus Tavernier drew a fine save from Trafford, the goalkeeper scurrying across his line to push the Cherries forward’s free-kick around the post 18 minutes into the second half.

A rasping drive from Rayan fizzed narrowly wide of the post before Calvert-Lewin’s header bounced past the upright and Tyler Adams’s shot was saved by Trafford.

António Silva stood his ground to block a blistering strike from Lukas Nmecha before Anton Stach blazed a free-kick high over the crossbar and Alvaro Rodríguez saw a shot saved by Trafford.

Adli doubled the Cherries' lead with the last kick of the game, neatly trading passes with fellow substitute Junior Kroupi before firing low past Trafford in added time.

AFC Bournemouth under-18s were defeated 3-1 by Tottenham Hotspur, at the AFC Bournemouth Performance Centre on Saturday afternoon (31st October).

Good press from Leyland Waite secured the only Cherries goal of the afternoon.

James Lowy's side competed well in the game, and had chances to score a second, but the Tottenham defence was able to withstand the pressure.

Tottenham took the lead in the 7^th minute. A fast break down the right saw the cross come in, and it was tapped home by Oliver Boast for the away side.

Joe Spence found some space on the ball inside the ‘D’, he passed out to Kelvin Arthur, before the latter fired narrowly wide.

The first half struggled to gain any real momentum, with constant small fouls being given by the referee.

Harley Simpson tested the Spurs keeper in the 38^th minute, a left-footed snap shot coming close to levelling the score.

Tottenham went into the break in the lead, but there were plenty of positive signs for the Cherries to take into the second period.

Guanchez came to AFC Bournemouth’s rescue early in the second half, a superb double block on the line kept the deficit at just the one goal.

Tottenham doubled their lead in the 51^st minute, after Sutton was judged to have committed a foul in the penalty area. Boast stepped up for the visitors, and slotted away his penalty.

Despite some good midfield play, the Cherries couldn't quite find the final pass, and Tottenham added a third in the 70th minute.

Good press from Waite meant he stole the ball off of a Spurs defender, and tapped into the empty net, pulling one back for the Cherries.

The Cherries had their moments in a tough game, but Spurs are going back to North London with all three points.

AFC Bournemouth starting XI: Melin, Drewett, Guanchez, Collins, Sutton, Aibangbee, Decardi-Nelson, Spence, Waite, Simpson, Arthur.

AFC Bournemouth have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2026/27 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide advice and gameweek tips which should prove useful in ensuring you win your mini-leagues.

Best of the Cherries

Gameweek 8 was a particularly strong one for the Cherries both on the pitch and in FPL. Amongst the squad there were four double-digit hauls, with returns for managers at either end of the field as each player in the starting 11 scored at least four points.

Earning 11-points for the game, James Hill (£5.5m) was the highest scorer in FPL for AFC Bournemouth this week. He registered a clean sheet, was awarded Defensive Contribution points after completing an impressive 22 defensive actions, and claimed the maximum of three bonus points.

His defensive colleague Adrien Truffert (£5.4m) racked up 10-points with an assist, a clean sheet and one bonus point.

In midfield, Rayan (£6.3m) and last week’s spotlight focus, Marcus Tavernier (£6.3m) also claimed 10-points themselves.

The pair both scored a goal and earned a clean sheet alongside collecting appearance points for playing more than 60 minutes each. However, Rayan picked up two Defensive Contribution points, while Tavernier scored two bonus points.

Defenders in FPL earn two extra points for completing 10 or more defensive actions (such clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles won) in a single game, while midfielders must hit 12 or more defensive actions which are the same as the defenders, however the midfielders also include ball recoveries.

Spotlight: James Hill (£5.5m)

Returning 18-points over the previous two gameweeks, FPL managers should start taking more notice of Hill.

As a player who has hit the threshold for Defensive Contribution points in 62.5% of his games so far this campaign, Hill has earned 10 extra points from these actions alone. FPL players will remember him being particularly strong in this area last year too, as he collected 28 Defensive Contribution points as part of his total of 110 points for the 2025/26 season.

But Hill’s threat extends beyond his defensive capabilities. In 25/26 Hill also claimed three assists and four bonus points. Over the opening eight fixtures this time around, he has created seven chances, with two of those considered big chances, ranking him joint-third for most big chances created amongst the Cherries’ squad this term.

The Englishman has already collected four bonus points this campaign, matching his entire total for bonus points last season, and at just 1.2% ownership amongst FPL managers, he makes for the perfect differential pick.

FPL Transfer Market

After two goals against Manchester City, Aston Villa’s Nicolas Jackson (£6.7m) is the player with the most transfers in ahead of Gameweek 9. His 13 points in that game have prompted over 406,000 managers to add him to their squads this week.

Bournemouth’s very own Tavernier is the second most transferred in player in the game ahead of Saturday’s deadline after his impressive showing against Manchester United. He’s seen more than 394,000 transfers in at present.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Alexander Isak (£9.1m) has been transferred in by in excess of 149,000 managers following his nine-pointer against Brighton.

AFC Bournemouth prepare to host Leeds United to Vitality Stadium on Saturday looking to extend a superb run of form.

The Cherries have won five in a row in all competitions without conceding, scoring 14 goals along the way which includes three successive 3-0 wins over AC Milan, Manchester United, and Aston Villa in the past week. Back-to-back Premier League victories have lifted Marco Rose’s side to 13th, two points behind seventh-placed Leeds.

Evanilson has scored four in his last five appearances, while Junior Kroupi is back in contention and will be looking to earn his first start since picking up his injury.

Daniel Farke’s side are tough to break down with only Arsenal conceding fewer in the league, though Leeds are winless in four after a goalless draw with Sunderland.

AFC Bournemouth development squad are back in action on Monday night, as they welcome Cardiff City in the Premier League Cup.

Alan Connell's side are currently top of group B on goals scored, with Leicester City and Cardiff also sat on six points. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages.

The development squad's only defeat so far in the Premier League Cup this season came away at Cardiff, in the opening competitive fixture of 2026/27.

Ahead of the fixture, development squad winger George Chubinidze spoke to afcb.co.uk:

"As a team I think we are in a good spot at the minute.

"Together, we have been creating a lot of chances and scoring a lot, but there is still lots of room for improvement.

"We've been playing well but perhaps our most recent results make it feel like we haven't quite got what we deserve.

"The feeling was that we were unlucky to lose the last game, so everyone is very up for the next one.

"Of course, we are hoping to win every game from now, and go on to lift the cup."

Alan Connell also spoke to afcb.co.uk:

"With our last two wins in the group, we are now level on six points with Cardiff and Leicester at the halfway stage of the group.

"Cardiff often cause us issues with their quality, so we expect a difficult game.

"We are in a good spot in terms of our hard work. The boys are already excited for the next game.

"I'll be looking to put on a performance that represents us as a club, and hopefully we can get the win."

The development squad have attracted large crowds at Wimborne Town's Wyatt Homes Stadium all season, with first-team players and staff members frequently watching the next generation of Cherries.

Connell continued: "We've had loads of people come and watch the players. They've all spoken so positively about the way we play, and it makes the environment really rich and fulfilling.

"We hope for another good crowd on Monday night."

AFC Bournemouth under-18s lead coach James Lowy "cannot wait for a tough test" as his side welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the AFC Bournemouth Performance Centre on Saturday.

Lowy's side are building some positive momentum in the U18 Premier League South, with two wins from their last two games.

Tottenham meanwhile, currently sit third in the league, coming off the back of a 2-2 draw with West Ham United.

Ahead of the game, Lowy spoke to afcb.co.uk: "We have another opportunity to go again in another top category one fixture.

"We know Tottenham are going to be an incredibly high level and it's a great challenge we're looking forward to.

"It'll be a difficult game, and at times we're going to suffer. But I know we'll also have our moments in the game.

"We need to make sure we are ruthless with those moments and be clinical and then also give a good account of ourself without the ball."

Lowy also reflected on the recent development squad game at Baffins Milton Rovers, which saw lots of his under-18 players getting minutes.

"The Hampshire Senior Cup was a good opportunity and a different kind of experience for the players," he said.

"It gives them exposure to senior men's football and gives them a chance to have a go at these kind of opposition.

"It was a great opportunity and will help them in their careers."

AFC Bournemouth v Tottenham Hotspur kicks-off at midday on Saturday 31st October. It will be live and free on AFCBTV and YouTube.

Head coach Marco Rose said midfielder Alex Tóth would be out for “some months” after being further assessed on a muscle injury.

The Hungary international sustained the issue during AFC Bournemouth’s 3-0 victory over AC Milan in the Europa League earlier this month.

Giving an update on the 21-year-old, Rose said: “We will still assess Totty but I am sorry about him and for him, because we are going to miss him a little bit longer.

“It’s a huge muscle injury. We just assess the situation, how we handle it, but he is going to be out for some months, I think.”

The Cherries head coach also gave an update on defender Veljko Milosavljević, who has twice featured for the club’s development squad on his return from a quad injury.

Rose said: “With the under-21s, he did well but you see that he lacked games like this and matches with our shirt.

“We are going to give him more match time with the under-21s and if we need him, he would be ready.

“If we can give him the time there to increase his level and fitness. We are going to give him the time to play there.”

Head coach Marco Rose said AFC Bournemouth would assess the time frame around midfielder Alex Scott’s return to match action nearer to the upcoming international break.

The England international picked up a thigh problem while on England duty earlier this month, meaning he has missed the Cherries’ past six fixtures.

Rose did not rule out the possibility of Scott featuring at Ipswich ahead of the November international fixtures, but said they would make a decision on the 23-year-old.

Asked for an update on Scott, the head coach said: “We are going to see where we are. In more or less one week, we have an international break, then we have two weeks more to get him really fit.

“But he is on the pitch, he works hard. He has no problems. He hasn’t trained with the team so far but I’m quite sure he is going to do it in the next couple of days.

“Then we are going to see, is it worth it to bring him to the squad before the international break? Or after the international break to be maybe more reasonable.”

Quizzed on whether Scott could feature next weekend, Rose replied: “It could be an option but again, we have to ask ourselves, is it reasonable?”

The Cherries, who have won their past five games in all competitions, have also been boosted by the return of forward Junior Kroupi.

The France under-21 international has featured off the bench in victories over Manchester United and Aston Villa.

“We still need to build up his game time,” said Rose, when asked about Kroupi.

“I’m really happy to have him back, his quality, but he knows that he has to be patient in this situation, to not get in a difficult situation with another injury.

“We need to get him fit, in a good spot with more and more match time inbetween good sessions of training.”

AFC Bournemouth supporters will have the chance to own a special piece of Cherries history while supporting the Royal British Legion (RBL) through this year’s MatchWornShirt auction appeal.

Head coach Helen Bleazard expressed her pride in her players despite them slipping to a 1-0 defeat at home against Portsmouth.

Northern Ireland international Kerry Beattie’s quickfire opener proved enough to settle the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division contest at the Bob Lucas Stadium.

The Cherries twice came within inches of levelling in the opening half, having hit the woodwork on two separate occasions.

Reflecting on the game, Bleazard said: “I’m bitterly disappointed to lose the game. I thought the girls were brilliant.

“The first minute of the game cost us unfortunately but for the rest of it our attitude, our application, our desire, our hunger, everything we wanted to do to try to get on the ball.

“On another day, we score four of the opportunities we had. It’s hugely frustrating and gutting for the girls and everyone involved.

“To not come away with anything is bitterly disappointing but it’s about how we recover and bounce back.

“Coming into a three-game week, we knew it was going to be a long one and now we need to bounce back after that defeat and go again going into Wimbledon on Sunday in the cup and hopefully get through the next round.

“It’s disappointing, we take the learning and we move on. It’s a much better performance, just the result wasn’t quite there.

“We learn as a group and I’m super proud of everyone tonight. All the prep we’ve done, they (the players) executed our game plan really, really well.

“We always learn, we reflect, we grow and we make sure we will be better for the next game.”

AFC Bournemouth booked a place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup thanks to an impressive 3-0 victory over five-time winners Aston Villa at Vitality Stadium on Wednesday.

The Cherries reached the last eight for the fourth time in their history and will meet former boss Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool at Anfield to battle for a semi-final berth in December.

Amine Adli, Lewis Cook and Álvaro Rodríguez were on the scoresheet for Marco Rose’s team as they recorded a fifth straight win and clean sheet in succession in all competitions.

Lewis Cook believes the depth and ambition within AFC Bournemouth’s squad can carry the Cherries a long way this season after they booked their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

Captain Cook was on the scoresheet as Marco Rose’s side recorded an impressive 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Vitality Stadium, extending their winning run to five matches in all competitions.

Amine Adli opened the scoring early on before Cook doubled the advantage shortly after half-time, with Álvaro Rodríguez adding a third to seal AFC Bournemouth’s place in the last eight.

It also completed a memorable six days for the Cherries following victories over AC Milan in the UEFA Europa League and Manchester United at Old Trafford.

“Again, it was a great performance,” Cook said. “Over the last five games we’ve been really good.

“It’s another clean sheet and we made a lot of changes, which shows that everyone plays a massive part. Everyone who came into the team did really well.

“Hopefully the 3-0s can continue! It’s always a good scoreline. Villa were good in parts of the game and it was a good test for us. We had to weather a bit of a storm at times, but I’m delighted for the goalscorers as well.”

Cook’s goal arrived six minutes after the restart, although the midfielder admitted there was more than a little fortune involved.

After playing a short corner with Ben Gannon-Doak, Cook’s delivery towards the near post caught out Villa goalkeeper Marco Bizot and found its way into the net.

“I didn’t mean the goal!” he admitted. “Before the goal and in training we’d worked on a little routine from set-pieces and I was just trying to put the ball into an area.

“When you put it there, you’ve always got a chance that it can go all the way in. I scored a similar one a few years ago, so I know I can do it and it was a goal at a good time for us.”

Rose made eight changes to the side which had won at Old Trafford, but the result and performance offered further evidence of the competition for places within his squad.

For Cook, that depth will be vital as the Cherries continue to compete across multiple fronts.

“I think it says a lot that we’ve done it in style with eight changes,” he said. “The squad is really important and everyone is right behind what we’re doing.

“I look at our squad and we’ve got a great team, a great squad and a great club with high ambitions.

“There’s still a long way to go, but our aim is to try and win silverware.”

AFC Bournemouth will travel to Liverpool in the quarter-finals of this season’s Carabao Cup.

The Cherries booked themselves in the last eight of the competition after sealing a 3-0 victory over Aston Villa at Vitality Stadium tonight.

Amine Adli opened the scoring for Marco Rose’s side after just seven minutes, before second-half strikes from Lewis Cook and Álvaro Rodríguez wrapped up the game against Unai Emery’s side.

A Ryan Christie hat-trick and a goal from Rayan earned the Cherries a 4-0 home win over Lincoln City in round three of the competition.

The cup run equals the furthest AFC Bournemouth have been in the competition in the club’s history, having previously reached the last eight in 2014–15, 2017–18 and 2018–19.

Liverpool set up the tie with AFC Bournemouth after sealing a 6-5 win over Chelsea on penalties, after a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes at Anfield.

Quarter-final ties will take place during the week commencing 14th December.

AFC Bournemouth development squad are out of the Hampshire Senior Cup, having been defeated on penalties.

A fine Jake Drewett goal cancelled out an earlier effort from Baffins to see the scores level at the end of the 90.

Ben Westcott in the Cherries goal made a fine save in the shootout, but the home side eventually saw themselves through to the next round.

The Cherries had the first set piece chance of the game. A floated delivery from Leyland Waite was into a dangerous area, but no visiting player was able to find the finishing touch.

Baffins opened the scoring in the 15^th minute. A free-kick was put into the box where, under pressure from a defender, Westcott was unable to claim and the home side could tap home.

After being fouled, Akaunu was dismissed by the referee for his reaction, meaning the Cherries would play the rest of the game with ten men.

With ten minutes to go before the break, good work in a tight space from Waite presented Nefeye Osazee with the opportunity to fire goalwards, but his effort was saved by the Baffins Milton Rovers goalkeeper.

At the start of the second half, nice work by Jake Drewett presented Jake Drewett with the shooting opportunity, but his effort was over the bar.

Captain on the night, Ameer Ali, was next to have a shot. His effort was spilt by the ‘keeper, but he was able to gather at the second time of asking.

More top work from Waite allowed him to cut inside and fire goalwards, but his effort deflected behind for a corner. The initial corner led to another one, which led to another one, before the home side eventually cleared their lines.

Five minutes later, Waite again tried his luck from distance, but this time his effort was held by the goalkeeper. Moments later, the Cherries number 10 crossed the ball onto the head of Ali, but the header was wide of the target.

Jake Drewett levelled the score in style in the 81st minute. Picking the ball up more than 30 yards from goal, the winger strode forwards and finished calmly to bring the score to 1-1.

As the whistle blew for the end of the 90, the scores were still locked at one goal apiece, which meant we were going to penalties.

Despite a fine save from Westcott in the shootout, Baffins won it 5-4, sending them through to the next round of the cup.

AFC Bournemouth starting XI: Westcott, Lyall-Rajendra, Aibangbee, Collins, Azzouz Scafe, Ali, Drewett, Spence, Akaunu, Waite, Osazee.

AFC Bournemouth eased into the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup courtesy of a resounding 3-0 victory over five-time winners Aston Villa at Vitality Stadium on Wednesday.

Amine Adli started the ball rolling with a neat finish in the seventh minute, the Cherries going on to dominate the first half but without adding to their lead.

However, that all changed when Lewis Cook doubled their advantage six minutes into the second half, his first goal for two years and two months.

Álvaro Rodríguez completed the scoring in the 69th minute, the young striker finishing clinically after being set up by Tyler Adams.

The win booked Marco Rose’s team a place in the last eight for the fourth time in their history and completed a memorable treble with Villa following AC Milan and Manchester United as three former champions of Europe to taste defeat at the hands of the Cherries.

Cherries defender Bafodé Diakité intercepted a dangerous pass from Emiliano Buendía which would have given Villa striker Brian Madjo a clear run on goal.

A fine move between Marcus Tavernier and Julio Soler presented Adli with the chance to open the scoring in the seventh minute.

And he took full advantage after Tavernier’s pass had picked out Soler darting down the left wing, his dinked cross finding Adli.

The 26-year-old neatly squeezed between Villa pair Leon Goretzka and Ian Maatsen before drilling the ball past goalkeeper Marco Bizot from close range.

It was his second goal in a week following his stunning 25-yard free-kick in the UEFA Europa League victory over AC Milan.

As Villa looked for a quick response, George Hemmings fired well wide before Bizot was forced to beat away a stinging drive from Ben Gannon-Doak.

Another blistering strike from Tavernier was charged down before Adli lifted his shot over the crossbar after Bizot had flapped at Soler’s centre.

Hemmings, teed up by Maatsen’s pass, went close to restoring parity when his drive from a tight angle flashed past the upright.

Tavernier almost doubled the Cherries’ lead when he fastened on to Soler’s cross before firing narrowly past the post with Bizot rooted to his line.

As the Cherries continued to create chances, Adli clipped an effort over the crossbar after meeting Juanlu Sánchez’s precise delivery.

Madjo’s pass across the top of the 18-yard box set up a shooting opportunity for Buendia who dragged his effort wide of the upright before Goretzka planted a header over the crossbar.

Gannon-Doak linked with substitute Justin Kluivert and stung the palms of Bizot at the start of the second half.

Ibrahim Mbaye’s shot deflected off a teammate and flew past the post before Sánchez’s strike was pushed on to the crossbar by Bizot.

And from the resultant corner, Cook doubled the Cherries’ lead, his first goal since scoring in the dramatic Premier League win at Everton in August 2024.

Having traded passes from the corner with Gannon-Doak, Cook’s strike from near the touchline crept in at Bizot’s near post six minutes into the second half.

Diakité’s important block kept out Alysson’s shot before Cherries goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio pulled off a fine save to prevent João Gomes from halving the deficit.

Justin Kluivert rifled an effort over the crossbar before a hanging cross from Diakité was headed narrowly wide by Rodríguez.

Rodríguez added the Cherries’ third goal in the 69th minute, firing home emphatically from close range having latched on to Tyler Adams’s pass and held off his marker.

Di Gregorio made a great reaction save to thwart Madjo and raced off his line to block Alejandro Garnacho after Kluivert’s thunderous strike had fizzed just wide.

AFC Bournemouth: Di Gregorio, Sánchez, Diakité, Silva, Soler, Cook, Christie (Adams, 63), Tavernier (Kluivert, h/t), Adli (Rayan, h/t), Gannon-Doak (Brooks, 63), Rodríguez (Kroupi, 80).

Unused subs: Petrović (g/k), Truffert, Hill, Smith.

Booked: Sánchez, Gannon-Doak, Cook.

After a strong FA Cup win, AFC Bournemouth Women are back in action tomorrow night (Wednesday) as they take on Portsmouth in the FA Women's National League.

The Cherries will be looking to maintain momentum, having beaten Plymouth Argyle 5-0 in their last league encounter, before beating Feniton 4-0 in the FA Cup.

In the league, Helen Bleazard's side currently sit in third place, one place above Wednesday's opponents, Portsmouth.

Ahead of the game, Bleazard spoke to AFCBTV: "Firstly, we were delighted with the win over Feniton.

"It was great to get some development team players some minutes and they fully deserved the opportunity.

"Ahead of Portsmouth, we know it'll be a tough test but it's one we are looking forward to.

"It'll be great to get back to league action, and we hope to see another strong crowd at the Bob Lucas."

Striker, Jenna Markham, also spoke to afcb.co.uk: "We've been through a bit of a rough patch, but we are very ambitious, and we know we can still fight for promotion.

"That is still the goal and we will do all we can in training to bounce back to form and keep the most recent run of wins going."
