Women’s team duo visit girls training session

AFC Bournemouth women’s captain Gemma Hillier and defender Holly Humphreys paid a visit to a girls training session over the last week.

The pair worked with the under-10 and under-12 age groups in their strength and conditioning coaching sessions, sharing their own experiences with the players, before getting involved in ball work with the youngsters.

Throughout the session, the youth team players had the opportunity to speak to both Hillier and Humphreys and ask them questions about training and playing for AFC Bournemouth.

To finish off the training session, both players worked with the under-10s through their training game, coaching them throughout.

The following weekend, Gemma Hillier was in attendance to support the under-12 girls as they played Portsmouth at Ringwood Community Hub.

Following the session, women’s team manager and head of community Steve Cuss told afcb.co.uk: “It was fantastic to see Gemma and Holly working with our younger players in the girls’ teams.

“You could see the young players were enjoying the experience of working with Gemma and Holly, and we are thankful to both for their support of the girls pathway.”
