Molly Barron-Clark plundered a clinical hat-trick as AFC Bournemouth eased to a 5-0 win over National League counterparts Torquay United on Sunday.

Barron-Clark opened the scoring with a delightful curling effort after 32 minutes and doubled the Cherries’ lead with a cushioned header on the stroke of half-time.

A crowd of around 400 at Ringwood Community Hub watched Steve Cuss’s team extend their lead when Erin Bloomfield headed home Barron-Clark’s cross eight minutes into the second half.

Barron-Clark, who went close to scoring with an audacious lob from 40 yards in the first half, just failed to find the target with a spectacular bicycle kick in the second half.

But the midfielder made no mistake when she finished with accuracy low into the bottom corner after Kenni Thompson’s cross had eventually fallen for her in the 66th minute.

Her treble took her personal tally for the season to nine, Barron-Clark having scored in the Cherries’ past four games, wins over Portishead, Bridgwater, Southampton Women and the Gulls.

Bermuda international Thompson completed the scoring in the closing stages, drilling home the loose ball after Alisha Buckingham’s rasping drive had been parried by Gulls goalkeeper Emma Ayres.
