Duo selected for England Colleges National Squad

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

The club are delighted to announce that AFC Bournemouth women's players, Molly Gladwell and Evie Murphy, have both been selected for the England Colleges team across 2023/24.

After a successful trial period, both players are set to face opponents which include Tottenham Hotspur and the army, while they'll also partake in a tour to Italy as part of the selection.

Molly Gladwell, a midfielder for the first team, has advanced through our Female Football Education Programme at Brockenhurst College and is now the second player to proudly represent the college at the national level. Gladwell has four goals in 15 first team appearances this season.

Evie Murphy joined AFC Bournemouth in the summer and primarily plays for the development squad. The left-back has demonstrated significant growth this season and played a crucial role for Dave Staddon's team.

Head of Community and women’s first team team head coach Steve Cuss shared his delight with afcb.co.uk:"We are extremely proud of Molly and Evie. Making the national squad is a fantastic achievement and credit to both players for their continued development. We look forward to following both players through a series of games throughout the season."
