Cherries secure signings of Treweek and Kelly

AFC Bournemouth Women are delighted to announce the signings of Lauren Kelly and Jess Treweek.

The duo become Steve Cuss’ third and fourth signings of the summer, having linked up with the Cherries ahead of their season opener against St Austell on Sunday.

Left-back Kelly arrives from neighbours Poole Town, also bringing experience from local clubs Swanage and Pro-Direct Dorset.

She also previously spent time with Oaklands Arsenal in her youth, a college system linked with the Gunners’ female talent pathway.

As for Treweek, she signs from AFC Stoneham, having formerly played for both Southampton and Reading's Centre of Excellence.

After securing their signatures, Cuss shared his delight with afcb.co.uk and admitted how much the pair will bring to the club.

“We’re absolutely delighted to bring both Jess and Lauren to AFC Bournemouth,” he began.

“They’re two great players who will strengthen the squad and they’ve both settled in really well during pre-season.

“The first game is just around the corner, so to have them sign ahead of that is real boost for us and just we can’t wait for it all to get underway now.”

AFC Bournemouth Women host St Austell in the National League on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 3pm at Ringwood Town. Entry is free and all supporters are welcome.
