In August 2022, AFC Bournemouth announced their partnership with Her Game Too ahead of the women’s team’s maiden appearance at Vitality Stadium.

The partnership is focused on AFC Bournemouth and Her Game Too working together to develop the clubs work in stamping out sexist abuse and creating a welcoming atmosphere for women at both home and away matches.

Her Game Too was founded by 12 passionate female football fans who have the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally. Last season, AFC Bournemouth’s dedicated Her Game Too fixture was celebrated on Saturday 11th March against Liverpool. The fixture also saw the club’s celebration of International Women’s Day.

As part of the matchday activation, Roopa Vyas, Director and Liverpool ambassador at Her Game Too attended the game and carried the ball out onto the plinth in front of a full Vitality Stadium to spread awareness of the non-profit organisation and gender equality at AFC Bournemouth.

Speaking to afcb.co.uk after the event, she said: "It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in AFC Bournemouth’s Her Game Too fixture last year, as the opposition team’s ambassador, and to walk out onto the pitch with the Premier League ball was a surreal moment.

"Together, we will continue to shine a spotlight on the importance of diversity, spreading awareness and fostering a sense of belonging within the beautiful game. With the club’s support, Her Game Too continues to break down barriers and pave the way for a more inclusive future, where every individual's passion for football is recognised and embraced."

With former Cherries ambassador Heather Hoggatt stepping into a different role with Her Game Too and becoming Chair of the Cherries Trust, the club have been working closely with the organisation to appoint a new representative for AFC Bournemouth.

As a result, we're delighted to announce Livvy Williams as the club’s Her Game Too Ambassador. Livvy has been a long-standing supporter of AFC Bournemouth, attending matches since she was around ten. Having grown up in the football environment, she wants to contribute to the club and community, and encourage more women to get involved in football.

Speaking to afcb.co.uk, Livvy said: "It is a pleasure to be taking on this role with the Her Game Too campaign, representing the club I love. I want people to feel welcome at Vitality Stadium regardless of demographic, and know that if they ever experience any issues, they have a friendly and approachable person in me to talk to."
