Alisha Buckingham has settled in seamlessly after signing from Southampton in the summer.

The winger, who has become a mainstay in Steve Cuss’ side, has four goals in eight starts for the Cherries and has helped the side maintain their position at the top of the National League.

Ahead of the weekend’s huge FA Cup game with Swindon Town, which could see the club reach the third round for the first time in history, Buckingham admitted how much she’s loving life in Dorset, with confidence sky high ahead of the clash.

Alisha Buckingham has settled in seamlessly after signing from Southampton in the summer.

“I personally have absolutely loved every single second of the season so far,” she said.

“As a team we are getting better each week and I feel so privileged to be a part of it all.

“The FA Cup has to be my favourite competition in both men’s and women’s football as every team at every level has the opportunity to win.

“There is something so special about winning FA Cup games especially when being involved with such a great club.

“It would be incredible to make the third round and I 100% believe that we as a team have the ability and desire to do so.”Buckingham went on to discuss how she and her teammates are still on a high following last weekend’s Hampshire Cup win over step three side Portsmouth.

Lucy Cooper’s goal 11 minutes from time proved to be the difference at Ringwood Town as the Cherries progressed to the quarter-final of the competition.

“I’m still on cloud nine from the win against Portsmouth on Sunday and it really does shine a light on the ability that we have as a team.

“Everyone is buzzing and it is such a strong performance to take into the FA Cup this weekend.

“As I say to everyone, the club is amazing and I really do feel at home when I am playing. Our team cohesion is spot on and we are proving that with our performances every week.”
