The 2019/20 season has finished for AFC Bournemouth Women.

An announcement from The FA confirmed that the campaign will come to an immediate end for clubs from the third tier downwards.

The Cherries had been sitting top of the Southern Region Women’s Premier League and had a League Cup final to look forward to when football was suspended a fortnight ago.

The season has now been declared null and void, with no sides being promoted or relegated.

Following the news, manager Steve Cuss spoke with afcb.co.uk: "In these unprecedented circumstances everyone’s health and well-being is the priority.

"With this in mind and the uncertainty on when football will start again, the decision is one that was necessary.

"The players have shown great commitment and work ethic in their efforts throughout the season and can be proud of their achievements."
