Women discover FA Cup opponents

AFC Bournemouth AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth Women face a trip along the south coast for their first game of the season.

The Cherries will travel to face Eastleigh on Sunday 6th September in the extra preliminary round of the FA Cup, with the game taking place at the Silverlake Stadium and kicking-off at 2pm.

It will be the first time that the Cherries have taken to the field in competitive action since March, after the outbreak of Covid-19 drew their campaign to an early halt

Steve Cuss' side were sat top of the Southern Region Women's Premier League at the time the season was declared null and void.

This season's league campaign is due to start on Sunday 4th October, with the fixture list to be announced in the coming weeks.

However, should the Women progress in the FA Cup next Sunday, the following round will take place before the league gets under way, with a trip to United Services Portsmouth on Sunday 20th September awaiting the winner.

Please note, anyone wishing to attend next Sunday’s game with Eastleigh can do so as long as social distancing guidelines are adhered to. There may be a small fee to pay on the gate, with the club is awaiting confirmation on this.
