Three out of our five girls and women’s games survived the weather conditions this weekend, with just the under-16 and women’s development squad being cancelled.

The under-10 and under-14 girls made the trip away to Hamble, whilst the under-12s played Mudeford Phoenix in the league.

Under-10s

It was an exciting game against tough opposition for the under-10 girls this weekend. The team played well, effectively putting into practice everything they had worked on in training that week.

In total, there were five goalscorers for the Cherries – Lucy, Daisy, Krystal, Isabella and Ruby, who was making her Cherries debut.

Under-12s

A quick start to Saturday’s game against Mudeford Phoenix saw the Cherries lead within the opening minutes, with Bobbi netting her first of four goals during the game. The team capitalised on their early lead and Tilly then scored after the ball was played out from the back by goalkeeper Pearl.

The goals continued to come throughout the game, with efforts from Isobel, Zara, Phoebe and Jess all finding the back of the net. This win sets the team up for this weekend’s game, which sees them travel to Newport on the Isle of Wight in the Hampshire Cup.

Under-14s

The Cherries took all three points from Hamble on Saturday in an impressive 8-0 victory and continued their unbeaten run in all competitions. Three out of their eight goals were scored in the first half, as Georgia netted a free kick from 35 yards out, and Lucy rounded the goalkeeper on two occasions to secure her brace.

The team were relentless in the second half scoring the fourth goal inside a minute, as Aimee netted the rebound from Lucy’s shot. Anisha added to the Cherries tally, working her way past two defenders and chipping the goalkeeper from inside the box. Holly, Sophie and Aimee then rounded off the victory with additional goals.
