AFC Bournemouth goalkeeper Will Dennis has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old has enjoyed a successful season so far, impressing for the youth team squad as well as on loan with Guernsey and Weymouth.

Dennis, who first joined the club July 2016, has signed a contract until June 2019 and is delighted with the progress he is making under the goalkeeping coaching team at the club.

"I’m really pleased," he said.

"The dream is to get your first contract at any club and this is a great club to be at, there’s some great players and coaches here.

"I feel I’ve come on massively from where I was. My knowledge has come on leaps and bounds being around Ant [Anthony White] and Mossy [Neil Moss] has helped me a lot, their coaching really has pushed me on.

"Also, having had the opportunity to train with the likes of Asmir Begovic and Artur Boruc has been brilliant, having a more senior goalkeeper giving you ideas and taking you through a session is excellent.

"They’ve played in matches for their countries and it’s really helped me, hopefully I can continue to push on with the new contract and I’m buzzing to keep learning and improving."

Dennis will now return to Weymouth on loan until the end of the season.
