AFC Bournemouth fact Tottenham in the FA Youth Cup tonight - with all fans invited along to Vitality Stadium to back the side.

The game kicks-off at 7pm tonight at the home of the Cherries, with admission available ahead of kick-off.

Entry for the tie costs £3 for adults and £1 for under 16s and wheelchair users, with well over a thousand fans coming along to the last round of the competition, also at Vitality.

The Cherries are in the fourth round for the first time since 1997, having earned a 3-0 success over Hull City in the round three before Christmas.

Cherries youth team manager Alan Connell spoke to afcb.co.uk ahead of the match, knowing how important it is for the club to be taking on prestigious names such as Spurs.

Connell said: “In youth team football the FA Youth Cup is the pinnacle, and when you talk to players who went on to have careers in the game they all remember their FA Youth Cup runs and how they got on. We’ve reached this stage and now we have the chance to go even further.

“Spurs will come here as the favourites but I have belief in our players and I’m confident that they will put in the performance that in the group we know they can.

“Our focus has to be on doing our jobs and not getting caught up in the atmosphere and the crowd in the stadium. We have good characters in our team so I don’t think that will be an issue.

“We’ve watched videos of Spurs in their previous games and looked at the way they try to play, though we have to focus on ourselves.

“They are a very good side, come from of the best academies in the country and have players from England’s under-17s World Cup win in the summer.

“They’re talented but this is cup football and if we play in the AFC Bournemouth way and do what we set out to do we will certainly have a chance."

The fifth round of the FA Youth Cup has already been drawn, with the winners of Tuesday night's tie going on to face a home tie with either West Brom or Chelsea in the new round.

“Knowing we have a home tie and one against either West Brom or Chelsea is a big incentive for us," continued Connell. "The players are aware of the draw and we’ll be doing all we can to get ourselves through."
