Stuttle enjoying 'exciting experience' on loan at Wimborne Town

Frontman Jonny Stuttle is relishing the opportunity to learn from his loan spell at Wimborne Town, as he continues to gain experience in men’s football.

The Cherries striker, who has featured up front for both the under-18s and development squad this season, struck on his debut for the Magpies against Westbury United last Saturday.

Watched on by a number of the Cherries academy staff at New Cuthbury, the forward netted what proved to be the winner for Tim Sills’s side in a 3-2 victory.

Weymouth-born Stuttle, who first signed for Cherries at the age of 11, could even land the Southern League Division One South title with Wimborne.

They are four points clear of second-placed Frome Town, with six games of their campaign remaining.

Speaking about his loan spell so far, Stuttle told afcb.co.uk: “I’m just there to do my job, help them out and, hopefully, win the league.

“They are a good group of lads there and really welcoming. It’s an exciting experience. I’m just happy to be there to help them on the run-in until the end of the season.

“It gives you that step and another thing to add to your game and your skillset as well. It’s only going to do me well.”

Reflecting on his winner, in front of an attendance of 908 last weekend, Stuttle said: “It was a good turnout and the fans were brilliant. It gives you that bit more of a boost to perform and do well.

“I had a few chances before then. I was a bit frustrated not to get on the scoresheet before that.

“I thought it was going to be one of those days when you have so many chances but you don’t get on the scoresheet.

“But luckily, it was just a case of continuing to do what I do and I got the winner.”

The striker continued his impressive run of form, having netted twice in the first half against Colchester in action for the Cherries under-18s on Tuesday.
