Pollock & Bevan agree pro deals

Under-18 players Euan Pollock and Owen Bevan have both agreed professional contracts upon the conclusion of their scholarships.

The agreements mark the latest steps in the development of the two promising young players, who have been in the Academy for a close to a decade.

Striker Pollock, who has netted over 20 goals for the youth team this season while also appearing in matches for the under-21s, was born in Dorchester and has been with the Cherries since the age of nine.

His goal-laden 20/21 campaign comes after also being the leading scorer at his age group for the three previous seasons.

Bevan is a defender who is comfortable on either the right or in the centre of the backline. A year younger than Pollock, the teenager has also been in the AFC Bournemouth Academy since he was nine.

Growing up in Fair Oak, Hampshire, Bevan also has international experience having represented Wales at schoolboy age group level.

Alan Connell, manager of the under-18s, spoke about Pollock and Owen and their deserved chance to continue to impress with the club.

"We're delighted to tie Euan and Owen down for a longer period of time," he said, "they're two players who we have high hopes for in the future.

"Both players have worked ever so hard at this football club for a very long time. They've come through the younger age groups and they're the sort of boys who you want to see do well because they're very conscientious about their work and always wanting to do more.

"They're the sort of characters we recruit and the sort of characters who generally go on and do well.

"We're delighted with them and also delighted for them. Now they can focus on their football and go about developing further - hopefully one day getting into our first team."
